Preferred audience:

All ages, all types of groups. Órla is the creator of Moth and Butterfly, an innovative story night for adults, combining true stories, fiction, and stories improvised on the spot. She is very passionate about contemporary storytelling, and inviting new audiences in through the mixing of artforms. Órla tells regularly for ‘smaller people’ at many festivals too; including Temple House, Baboro, and Merlin Woods Multicultural Fairy Trail.

Background experience:

Órla Mc Govern is a professional Performer, Improviser, Facilitator and Writer based in Galway. As an actor she has performed in major theatres worldwide including Ireland, UK, Europe, Russia and the USA. She has featured in Film, TV and Radio on both sides of the Atlantic. As a writer, Órla has created work for all media including A Mythological Radio Play, An Audio Drama for The Guinness Storehouse Installation, and A Pantomime performed on a moving boat on the River Liffey. Her plays have been performed globally. Órla is founder of ‘The Sky Babies’ Improv troupe, and is the ‘creative advisor’ to Mrs Nellie Murphy, a woman of substance.
