Mostly Irish myths, legends, ghost stories, fairy stories and humorous stories.

Can work both with children and adults.


Background experience:

Bernadette’s love of storytelling stems from her childhood in rural Fermanagh in the 1950s when her parents’ house was a popular spot for neighbours on their Céilí. She has worked for the Verbal Arts Centre in schools and summer schemes and for Fermanagh Further Education College in Day Care Centres for the Elderly. She has told stories at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, the Ulster American Folk Park, the President Grant Homestead, Ballygawley and Tullycarnet, Belfast, Enniskillen Museum, the Oscar Wilde Festival, Enniskillen and for the National Trust at Castlecoole and Crom in Fermanagh. She works with the WI and local history groups in Fermanagh and lectures on Irish myth to groups of tour guides. She has performed at Children’s Storytelling Festival at Cultra and the Folk Park in Omagh and worked with schools for the Churches Peace Initiative, Belfast.
