Background experience:

Simone is a German storyteller, writer and teacher based in Dublin. She grew up in a small town in Germany close to the Fairy Tale Road where the Brothers Grimm collected their stories.

She is a trained teacher (English and German Language teaching) and moved to Ireland in 2011. Here she founded the storytelling theatre StoryGate together with the Irish storyteller Michael Phelan. She has told stories in many libraries, schools and at festivals (Three River Storytelling Festival, Cape Clear Island International Storytelling Festival, Dunderry Spirit of Folk Festival) and been part of the Children’s Book Festival as well as the Month of Storytelling in Wexford.

Simone is part of the international storytelling ensemble Story-O that performs regularly in Dublin for an adult audience.

Using her native language (German) she has also worked closely with the Goethe Institute Dublin, telling bilingual stories and helping students to learn a second language through storytelling.
